My name is Keisha Ramtahal, this blog will give you an incite about my life and how the journey has been so far. I'm 22 years of age and is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Education to become a Social Studies/ Geography teacher. Let's take a trip down memory lane to 1994, the year I was born. After attending preschool at the age 5, I went in Dayanand Memorial Vedic School where I went through many phases. At age 7, I wanted to be a teacher but later on fell in love with being a bank accountant. I had made up my mind that I will be the best bank accountant and focuses everything on becoming this. By age 9, I lost my mother and I lose interest in a lot of things. But I still was determined to become a bank account, after attending Iere High School, I know from the start that I was going into the business field without a doubt. I did well for CXC and for CAPE with the guide of my aunt. After taking a year off, I started the University of Trinidad and Tobago where I was pushed by my aunt to do this Bachelors of Education. With her influence, I decided that I can still get into the business field but with the influence of friends I switched into the social studies field because we all know that its easier to get in. From since then to now, I have not regretting making this choice since my love for Geography has grown and I have learn so much. By also going out on Practicum, teaching has not been easy when you want to be the best teacher that you can be. Being a teacher is hard work but I never gave up. There were many ups and downs but at the end of it all, it helps you become better at what you do. I love teaching with a passion and just being the Geography field it opens up so much opportunities for me. One famous quote by Marc Anthony, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." I believe this quote is true because once you do what you love the rest will be easy.

  1. Hi Keisha, Thanks for your wonderful post!! You have really given me a great insight into who you are as a person. I love the quote: do what you love!!! I hope that being a Geography teacher will bring you great joy over the course of your career. What do you think has been the most important lesson that you have learned about yourself or about life that you would want to share with your students?

    1. Hi miss, well I have learnt that sometimes in the worse situations it brings out the best in you. Life goes on no matter what and it's up to you to move on and take a risk or don't do anything and just think about what would have been. Overtime, I have change into an ambitious young woman who never gives up no matter how difficult things may get I always kept my head high and rise above all. All my life, I always tried to pleased people and listen to what they say but I have learnt to ignore them and do what is best for me. I always enjoy my life no matter how hard it may get. A famous quote I always loved is "When life gives you a thousand reasons to cry, show the world you have a million reasons to smile."
