Many globes are made to tilt at an angle of 23ยบ to match the actual tilt of the Earth. Incidentally, it is this tilting of the Earth, relative to the sun as it orbits around it, which causes the seasons to change and give us more daylight hours at certain times of the year.
Assuming you mean earth's axis is perpendicular to the level of the orbit - there would be minimal variation of weather with the seasons. Most of the difference between summer and winter is due to axial tilt, not the (slightly varying) distance from the sun. SO CAN YOU SEE HOW IMPORTANT THE TILT IS? I did not know that the tilt of the axis is accountable for the seasons that occur during different times of the year. Earth's Tilt Is the Reason for the Seasons!.........The seasons are caused as the Earth, tilted on its axis, which travels in a loop around the Sun each year. Summer happens in the hemisphere tilted towards the Sun, and winter happens in the hemisphere tilted away from the Sun.
One big eye opener was that it is possible for snow to exist on the equator......Who would of thought that would of been possible since the equator has hot temperatures. I find that super amazing and I will pass on this knowledge to my students so they can see how interesting this world is made up and the geography behind every action. Image result for altitude and temperature
In this class, we also looked at Atmospheric heating and cooling where we discussed the  environment and adiabatic lapse rates. I understand now that altitude and temperature have an inverse relationship meaning that the opposite happen. For example when altitude increases, temperature decreases and vice versa. We calculated some of the temperature in high mountain peaks around the world and compared them to see which one had the lowest and highest temperature. I think that this topic is very important so that people can understand how temperature works at different places around the earth and at different heights as well. Temperature is also very important factor in determining the weather since some areas are hot and some are cold different weather conditions will be experienced. Image result for learning is fun quotes

The Atmosphere

Image result for atmosphere quotes

In becoming a prospective Geography teacher, there are so much interesting things that you come across and it may surprise you how important it may be. Even though we did so many courses before, I only realized that most of the topics can be related to or be interconnected some where or the other. From this Atmospheric systems and processes course, I was allowed to recollect my thoughts from another geography course and from researching the topic when preparing lessons out on Practicum. I use this prior knowledge and applied it in class where was necessary.

Today class we learn about the Sun's radiation and the heat energy transfer. It a "refresher" to review the composition of the atmosphere and the functions. The atmosphere is very important since it blocks the Sun's dangerous rays from reaching the Earth. It also traps heat, to make the temperature comfortable for living organisms by containing the most important gas for us to breathe, oxygen. Without the atmosphere it would be impossible for any living organisms to live on Earth. Radiation from the Sun is important because without the Sun we are nothing. Without the Sun's heat and light, the Earth would be dark and lifeless since the sun warms our seas, spins our atmosphere, generates our weather patterns and gives energy to grow green plants to provide the food and oxygen for life on Earth. In addition, this energy drives our weather systems and our climate is also adversely affected by the amount of radiation given of by the Sun to the Earth.

I would like to use the activities of team building and group work in my classroom because it allows bonding and collaboration among the members. Also it will helps us better our understanding of each others' strengthens, weaknesses and interests.

Introduction

Image result for journey

My name is Keisha Ramtahal, this blog will give you an incite about my life and how the journey has been so far. I'm 22 years of age and is currently pursuing a Bachelors of Education to become a Social Studies/ Geography teacher. Let's take a trip down memory lane to 1994, the year I was born. After attending preschool at the age 5, I went in Dayanand Memorial Vedic School where I went through many phases. At age 7, I wanted to be a teacher but later on fell in love with being a bank accountant. I had made up my mind that I will be the best bank accountant and focuses everything on becoming this. By age 9, I lost my mother and I lose interest in a lot of things. But I still was determined to become a bank account, after attending Iere High School, I know from the start that I was going into the business field without a doubt. I did well for CXC and for CAPE with the guide of my aunt. After taking a year off, I started the University of Trinidad and Tobago where I was pushed by my aunt to do this Bachelors of Education. With her influence, I decided that I can still get into the business field but with the influence of friends I switched into the social studies field because we all know that its easier to get in. From since then to now, I have not regretting making this choice since my love for Geography has grown and I have learn so much. By also going out on Practicum, teaching has not been easy when you want to be the best teacher that you can be. Being a teacher is hard work but I never gave up. There were many ups and downs but at the end of it all, it helps you become better at what you do. I love teaching with a passion and just being the Geography field it opens up so much opportunities for me. One famous quote by Marc Anthony, "If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life." I believe this quote is true because once you do what you love the rest will be easy.
